CCW Reciprocity…NATIONALLY?

January 14, 2025

CRPA announced today its support for a bill that would establish nationwide reciprocity for concealed carry permit holders, a change long overdue, particularly given the efforts of many states to enact onerous restrictions on the rights of lawful gun owners.

The Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, recently introduced by Senators John Kennedy (R-LA)  and John Cornyn (R-TX) would allow individuals authorized to carry a concealed firearm in their home state to legally carry in other states that permit concealed carry, provided they comply with the specific laws of those states.

The bill has garnered bipartisan support, with over 120 co-sponsors in the House supporting the idea that law-abiding citizens should be able to protect themselves while traveling across state lines without navigating a complex patchwork of state laws. More support is needed!  Call or email your local representatives to let them know you support these measures!

While the California Legislature seeks to create an unwieldy patchwork of laws that make lawful carry a virtual impossibility in the state, these measures rightfully respect the fundamental right to keep and bear arms!
