New From CRPA TV: Shocking Ninth Circuit Decision
Today, a three-judge panel from the Ninth Circuit ruled in the case of U.S.A. v. Duarte, striking down a law bans nonviolent felons who have served their sentence from owning a firearm.
Michel & Associates attorney Kostas Moros dropped by CRPA TV today to discuss the somewhat surprising ruling and how it impacts other cases of importance in the post-Bruen era. This and other cases across the country, including U.S. v. Rahimi, which is pending at the Supreme Court, will serve to define how the methodology of the Bruen decision will be clarified.
While there is a distinct possibility that the case will be taken up by an en banc panel (the Ninth Circuit traditionally frowns on decisions that affirm the Second Amendment), it is, for now a big victory.
