Politics Aside, Prop. 50 Is BAD For Gun Owners
Proposition 50, which appears on the ballot on November 4th, proposes to do away with the nonpartisan redistricting process that California voters approved through Prop. 11 (in 2008) and Prop. 20 (in 2010).
Those voter-approved initiatives put redistricting the state’s legislative districts in the hands a citizen-led commission, taking this critical process out of the hands of politicians. But with an interstate battle raging over the partisan balance of the House of Representatives, Gov. Newsom and his legislative allies have decided to take power back from the people.
