Lawmakers love to explain taxes in so many glorifying ways, but the truth is that many are simply punitive. Such is the case with California’s 11% excise tax imposed through the passage of AB 28 back in 2023.

California Department of Tax and Fee Administration, our challenge to the unlawful tax. Chuck walks us through some complex legal jargon to cut to the main point: the plaintiffs in this case have legal standing to sue and we are amending our complaint to make clear how the law is unconstitutional.
