2013 Legislative Calendar
The legislature reconvened on January 7 to begin the first year of the 2013-2014 legislative session. The new legislature was sworn in on December 3.
January 1 – Statutes take effect.
January 7 – Legislature reconvenes.
January 10 – Budget must be submitted by the Governor on or before this date.
January 25 –  Last day to submit bill requests to the Office of Legislative Counsel.
February 22 – Last day for bills to be introduced.
March 21 – Spring Recess begins upon adjournment.
April 1 – Legislature reconvenes from Spring Recess.
May 3 – Last day for policy committees to hear and report to fiscal committees fiscal bills introduced in their house.
May 10 – Last day for policy committees to hear and report to the floor non-fiscal bills introduced in their house.
May 17 – Last day for policy committees to meet prior to June 3.
May 24 – Last day for fiscal committees to hear and report to the floor bills introduced in their house and last day for fiscal committees to meet prior to June 3.
May 28 – 31 Floor session only. No committee may meet for any purpose.
May 31 – Last day to pass bills out of the house of origin.
June 3 – Committee meetings may resume.
June 15 – Budget Bill must be passed by midnight.
July 12 – Last day for policy committees to hear and report bills. Summer Recess begins on adjournment, provided Budget Bill has been passed.
August 12 – Legislature reconvenes from Summer Recess.
August 30 – Last day for fiscal committees to meet and report bills to the Floor.
September 6 – Last day to amend bills on the Floor
September 3 – 13 Floor session only. No committees, other than conference committees and Rules committee may meet for any purpose.
September 13 – Last day for each house to pass bills.  Interim Study Recess begins at the end of this day’s session.
October 13 – Last day for the Governor to sign or veto bills passed by the Legislature before September 13 and in the Governor’s possession on or after September 13.
