OBJECTIVE
California has some of the most confusing and complicated firearms laws in the nation. And now more laws are on the way!!!

An attorney from the law firm of Michel & Associates, P.C. is working with MV Tactical & Firearms Training, Inc. to present “Gun Law for Gun Owners,” which will be hosted by the Redondo Information Technology Center in Redondo Beach, California on November 12, 2016.

COURSE OVERVIEW
This six-hour class will combine the expertise of attorney Joseph Silvoso (criminal defense and firearms law attorney/lecturer) and trainer Brian Fitzpatrick (retired police sergeant, training officer, and tactical firearms instructor). The combination of these teaching talents will create a unique learning experience for attendees. Admission for this one-of-a-kind class is $125.00.

Participants will learn about current and pending state and federal firearm laws and will receive a copy of C.D. Michel’s book, California Gun Laws: A Guide to State and Federal Firearm Regulations 3rd Edition, a $26.00 value. Attendees will also be taught how they—as lawful gun owners—should react and behave when questioned by police, with suggestions offered from the perspective of both Mr. Silvoso, a criminal defense attorney, and Mr. Fitzpatrick, a retired police officer. Lessons will include analysis of actual encounters with police, and a discussion of the practical applications of California’s confusing and ever-expanding firearm laws and how these laws play out in California courts. Proposition 63 and the July 1 firearm bills will also be discussed. Participants will have an opportunity to have their questions addressed personally by Mr. Silvoso during and after the lecture.

For attorneys attending the class: the firearm law portion that makes up the first three hours, taught by Mr. Silvoso, will be available for CLE credit. An additional fee of $50 dollars (for a total cost of $175.00) will be required for attorneys who want to receive a total of 3 hours of CLE credit. Attorneys are not required to attend the rest of the course after the CLE portion to obtain the full three hours of CLE credit, although they are welcome to attend the entire day’s class.
