September 30th: Deadline For Governor Brown To Sign Remaining Legislation

September 22, 2016

This is your reminder that the Governor still has multiple bills before him that he can either sign or veto. His final decision must be made by the 30th of this month.

Below, you will find a list of bills that are before him that CRPA both supports and opposes:

CRPA Opposed Bills

AB 450 (McCarty): AB 450 clarifies current law regarding concealed weapon permits and mandates the issuing authority to charge a fee which is “sufficient” to cover the cost of issuing and overseeing CCW permits. If signed into law, AB 450 would remove the current cap on CCW permits and will allow for fees to skyrocket in the jurisdictions that choose to do so. This would result in individuals becoming unable to obtain their CCW permit due to unreasonable costs.

SB 1332 (Mendoza): SB 1332 establishes restrictions and regulations on the loaning of firearms. SB 1332 also mandates the Department of Justice to modify its registration form so that both spouses and domestic partners may register as the owners of a firearm. This bill will lead to a raid of DROS funds.

Please contact the Governor and encourage him to veto these anti-Second Amendment pieces of legislation. For his contact info, click here

Thank you for standing with gun owners and CRPA as we defend our inalienable right of gun ownership, whether it be for sport or protection.
