2A Gatekeeper: Committee Chair Stifles Pro-Gun Bills

Assembly Public Safety Committee Chair, Reggie Jones-Sawyer is no friend of the 2nd Amendment. While Gavin Newsom and Kevin De Leon may steal the anti-gun spotlight, Assemblyman Jones-Sawyer does more damage to the Second Amendment than either of them on a daily basis.

As the chair of the public safety committee, he is the gatekeeper for all gun related legislation. Due to his disdain for our rights, we have lost several good pro-gun bills this session.

Jones-Sawyer is personally responsible for the death of two bills to make California a “shall issue” state, two bills to improve CCW issuance, a bill to remove micro stamping requirements, and a bill to repeal the handgun roster.
