Anti-Second Amendment Congressman Xavier Becerra Confirmed To Lead California Department Of Justice
On Monday, January 23rd, Congressman Xavier Becerra was confirmed by the State Senate as California’s next Attorney General. The final vote tally was 26-9.
Over the past month, CRPA has alerted its members about the dangers of appointing someone to such a critical position who has shown nothing but hostility towards the Second Amendment throughout his entire career.
During Becerra’s hearings, he made it clear that he would continue his anti-Second Amendment agenda as California’s Attorney General.
After being sworn in today, January 24th, now Attorney General Xavier Becerra, will oversee the California Department of Justice (DOJ), which encompasses the Bureau of Firearms. The Bureau of Firearms is responsible for everything firearm related in California. This includes the propagating of rules and regulations, such as the recently submitted “Assault Weapon” regulations by the DOJ to the Office of Administrative Law (OAL).
