The Calm Before The Legislative Storm

On July 6th, the legislature officially adjourned for its summer recess. For California’s gun owners, it means we can breathe a sigh of relief for a few brief weeks while the elitist gun grabbers are out of the Capitol. For the next month, the relentless attack on our rights will be on hold. While the anti-gun lawmakers are away, we can take the time to recoup and prepare for what comes next.

While we can all enjoy this fleeting pause in the fight for our rights, we must remember that this legislative session is far from over. This next month is our 7^thinning stretch, we cannot forget that there are still more innings to be played.

When the legislature returns, it is going to be an all-out push to the finish line. With the deadline to pass bills set less than a month after the end of summer recess, our opponents will waste no time pursuing their zealous anti-gun agenda. Additionally, we must be ready to fight for our own pro-hunting bills; we are determined to make positive progress in the legislature!

Come August 6^th, we are going to need your help more than ever before. If you want to fight for our rights, please answer our calls to action when they come.

Be prepared for underhanded gut & amend bills, rushed committee hearings, and sneaky procedural rules. As always, we will keep you informed about the status of pending legislation.
