Support Safe Schools For California’s Children

February 23, 2018

With the passage of AB 424 last year, California’s youth were left defenseless against acts of deranged violence. By removing the ability of local officials to determine who can carry a firearm on school campuses, Assemblyman McCarty’s bill has effectively made our children sitting ducks. Criminals and other disturbed individuals now know that our schools are now 100% ‘gun free’ zones; California’s students are easy targets.

While some school districts have security or police departments, many lack the resources to fund full time licensed and trained security personnel for their campuses.

Thankfully, Assemblyman Gallagher has proposed new legislation to help protect our students. AB 2067 will require all California public K-12 schools to hire licensed and trained security to protect the children enrolled in their district. Nothing is more important than providing our children with a safe and secure learning environment.

With your support, this bill can help protect our students from the dangers they face thanks to Assembly Member McCarty’s AB 424. CRPA would like to thank Assemblyman Gallagher for his devotion to the protection of our state’s students, and for his commitment to creating a safe place for children to learn and grow.

Contact your Assembly Member and tell them that they must vote to keep our students safe at school; tell them to vote yes on AB 2067.
