Increased Age Limit and Long Gun Purchasing Restrictions

May 29, 2018

Senator Portantino’s bill, SB 1100 aims to resurrect the failed one long-gun per month pipe-dream and to restrict the sale and transfer of firearms to anyone under the age of 21. This bill passed Appropriations Committee last week, making it one step closer to becoming law!

Not only is this bill set to further restrict our long-gun purchasing rights, but it will also make our most vulnerable in our society defenseless. Removing the rights of law abiding adults under the age of 21 is absolutely ridiculous. How can you consider stripping active duty soldiers and young single mothers of their right to self-defense?

This will be the third time this bill be on the docket, having failed twice before. Our membership and anyone who considers themselves a 2nd Amendment defender should call their State Senator to help stop this bill. This bill will be heard in the Senate soon; contact your Senator today and tell them to vote NO on SB 1100
