Effort To Repeal Anti-Firearm Legislation Via The Referendum Process

July 26, 2016

A California businessman and Second Amendment advocate are spearheading an effort to repeal each unconstitutional bill that was signed by Governor Jerry Brown earlier this month. Some recent news reports have falsely stated that CRPA is not supporting this effort. That is incorrect. CRPA supports the effort, via the referendum process, as a way to fight back against politicians who seek to disarm law-abiding citizens. CRPA will provide legal, logistical and promotional support for the effort.

That being said, succeeding through this referendum process is difficult. Ordinarily, it would require as much as 3 to 4 million dollars and a large network of paid signature gatherers, dedicated volunteers and supporters to gather the 365,000 valid signatures of registered voters necessary just to get the referendums on the ballot.

CRPA’s legal team has prepared an analysis of the process and the hurdles that will be faced. To read it, click here.

Despite the odds, CRPA is helping to get the word out to gather enough signatures to qualify for the ballot and support for this effort.
