After strong opposition shown by CRPA staff and members, the gun shows at the Ventura County Fairgrounds been saved from cancellation. An overwhelming majority of Ventura County Fairground board members showed their support for the gun shows at the fairground in a 22-8-2 vote. The gun shows, that are hosted at the Ventura County Fairgrounds, were met with recent opposition in light of anti-Second Amendment bills like SB 221. This bill was vetoed by Governor Brown and would have banned gun shows from the Daly City Cow Palace in the bay area.
Similar attacks have been made in Orange County and Del Mar, where opposition to the gun shows has been prevailing. The Del Mar gun shows were voted into suspension last month, and the fight for gun shows in Orange County forges on.
