2017 Local Ordinance Victories

CRPA fights every day to stop local governments from infringing upon your Second Amendment rights, and continues to provide free legal education to the public to help navigate the state’s confusing laws. Here are some highlights of our victories:

  • In Moraga the efforts of CRPA and our members persuaded the city council not to implement a mandatory locked storage requirement.
  • In San Jose, like in Moraga, the efforts of CRPA and our members convinced the city council not to implement a mandatory locked storage requirement.
  • In Cupertino, the Public Safety Commission failed to pass anti-gun ordinances after serious flaws in the language were highlighted by NRA and CRPA opposition letters.
  • Daly City was forced to settle a lawsuit for $40,000 after it tried to block the opening of a local gun shop.
  • In Los Angeles, CRPA successfully pressured the city to repeal its ban on subcompact pistols.
