New Year, New Laws: CRPA TV Is Here To Help

January 1, 2026

Happy New Year, California!

As we step into 2026, several major firearm laws passed in 2025 are now taking effect — and some will continue rolling out over the next few months. CRPA is here to make sure you aren’t blindsided by the maze of new regulations lawmakers continue to push onto responsible gun owners.

In the last installment of CRPA TV, host Kevin Small is joined by attorney Matt Cubeiro, partner at Michel & Associates, to discuss four major laws you need to understand as we move into 2026:

  • AB 383 – New relinquishment procedures affecting individuals who have already lost their 2A rights.
  • AB 1263 – The “parts & accessories bill” that may force many online sales into FFL face-to-face transfers.
  • AB 1127 – The so-called “Glock Ban,” restricting pistols with cruciform trigger bars.
  • AB 1078 – CCW restrictions, restraining-order clarifications, and the return of purchase limits: 3 firearms per 30 days starting April 1st of this year.

CRPA remains on the front lines battling bad bills from Sacramento and, if necessary, fighting them in court. Stand with us in ‘26!
