Is 2026 The Year of the Second Amendment?
There are now a historic number of Second Amendment cases pending at the Supreme Court, making gun rights what SCOTUSBlog.com calls the “spotlight” issue of this term. CRPA’s own Duncan v. Bonta is among those the Court may hear and yesterday it was re-listed for conference meaning it’s fate will be determined some time in early 2026.

While the exact sequence of events is murky, what is crystal clear is that 2026 will be a momentous year for the Second Amendment. A Court favorable to 2A rights has brought forward a host of relevant cases, touching all the major issues, and set the stage for history.
