Olympic Champion Kim Rhode Joins CRPA TV

January 28, 2025

It’s over eight years now since Kim Rhode became the lead plaintiff challenging Proposition 63, which implemented strict background checks for ammunition purchases and prohibited direct online ammunition shipments to consumers.  The new law effectively chilled ammunition sales in the state and also made Rhode’s life as a competitive shooter difficult in a number of ways.

Last week at SHOT Show, CRPA TV host Kevin Small caught up the three-time Olympic gold medalist to talk about her upbringing (surprise, she started young) and the windy path of the case that bears her name.  WATCH NOW!

The Rhode case remains prominent in the national debate over how the Bruen standard will be applied by courts across the country.  Gun control advocates continue to deploy schemes like Prop. 63 that claim to promote public safety, but really just create real-world obstacles like Kim describes in the video.  The goal is clear: make it as difficult as possible to exercise your Second Amendment rights.

CRPA is tremendously grateful for Kim Rhode and plaintiffs like her who have stepped forward to challenge unconstitutional regulations here in California and anywhere 2A right are threatened!
