CRPA & Partners File TRO To Stop FFL Recording
December 22, 2023
CRPA joined with our friends at Gun Owners of California, Gun Owners of America, Gun Owners Foundation, and Second Amendment Foundation to file a motion for a temporary restraining order that would block enforcement of requirements put in place by SB 1384, which mandates the recording of all transactions conducted anywhere an FFL conducts business.
Read the motion here!
Tuesday, the same allies filed a lawsuit known as Richards v. Newsom that aims to stop the law entirely. If granted, the TRO would prevent the law from being implemented until that case is decided.
SB 1384 would be costly to FFL’s, mandating costs that could put many of them out of business. And it produces the chilling effect of recording people who have not given consent to be recorded. In so doing, it would force lawful gun owners to trade in their 1st, 4th, and 5th Amendment rights just to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights.
Thanks to all of who helped us get this far!
