The attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, and the subsequent resignation of Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, shocked us all and rightfully spawned many questions. Not wanting to miss out on a news cycle, gun control advocates have used the national attention to beat the drum about one of their favorite targets: AR-15’s.
Ignoring the host of security failures to focus on the firearm used by the assassin is par for the course for these groups, who regularly fantasize that new laws, registries, databases, and restrictions truly can prevent the actions of the criminally insane.
