Pro-2A CRPA Candidates Add More Historic Wins in California

November 19, 2020
When we stand for the Second and Hold the Line together, we continue to win.

November 19, 2020 – CRPA extends its congratulations to 21 additional pro-2A candidates for the U.S. Congress and the California State Legislature who have been declared winners in their respective races this past week.

Each of these winners has been rated by CRPA and Gun Owners of California, and many of our members have helped on their own time to secure their victory – translating each candidate’s victory into another victory for the Second Amendment in California.

In California’s Congressional races, Young Kim (R-CA 39) and Michelle Steel (R-CA 48) flipped previously Democratic districts and join the historic class of Republican women joining the U.S. House of Representatives. Kim and Steel are also among the first Korean-American women to serve in Congress. Ken Calvert (R-CA 42) won reelection for another 2-year term, and Darrell Issa (R-CA 50) also returns to Congress having won his race in a district that covers San Diego and Riverside counties.

In races for the California State Senate, Josh Newman (D-SD29) returns to the body after a rematch race and two-year absence, and Richard Roth (D-SD31) won his reelection bid.

In State Assembly races, Megan Dahle (R-AD1), Kevin Kiley (R-AD6), Ken Cooley (D-AD8), Heath Flora (R-AD12), Devon Mathis (R-AD26), Rudy Salas (D-AD32), Jordan Cunningham (R-AD35), Tom Lackey (R-AD36), Chad Mayes (NPP-AD42), Phillip Chen (R-AD55), Kelly Seyarto (R-AD67), Steven Choi (R-AD68), Randy Voepel (R-AD71), Janet Nguyen (R-AD72) and Marie Waldron (R-AD75) have now been declared the winners in their respective races.

“Each win for pro-2A candidates – whether Republican, Democrat, or Independent – is another victory for law-abiding gun owners in California,” said Chuck Michel, President of the California Rifle & Pistol Association. “These winning candidates all stood up for our rights in California, and when CRPA and its tens of thousands of members fight together, the Second Amendment is strengthened every day.”
