Duncan Case Update- 9th Circuit Holds Oral Argument Via Live Stream

April 1, 2020

On April 2, 2020 at 9:00am we will have a unique opportunity to watch the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals consider oral argument via live stream video in the Duncan magazine ban case. This is the appeal to the order that stopped Freedom Week, which allowed Californians to purchase standard issue magazines with more than ten rounds.

California banned the manufacture, sale, import and transfer of these magazines in 2000 and in 2016 the state took additional steps of banning the mere possession of magazines over ten rounds.

It is a historic day that the Court would hold oral arguments in this way so that we can all view the proceedings. Click here to view (please note that there is a calendar and other cases are scheduled for the same morning.)

This is also historic in that a positive ruling would remove the restrictions on Californians and would allow them to obtain the same magazines that Americans across the country can purchase and possess.

CRPA focuses efforts on securing legal rulings that support your Constitutional rights. We already won at the District Court level and now we are on appeal of that decision. Your continued support of litigation efforts is key to getting cases like this through the system. This takes a lot of time and resources.
