Winning Big on Hunting

Despite efforts from the California legislature, hunting bills are making advancements with the aide of CRPA.

Our hunting bills have advanced out of rounds of committee hearings and are making their way towards the floors of each chamber. Assembly Water Parks and Wildlife passed SB 1311, which will create a new California Sportsmen’s License (a combo hunting/fishing license). The bill will streamline the licensing process for California outdoorsmen. This bill would also reduce the license fees for veterans. Now that’s something to get behind!

Additionally, the Senate Committee on Natural Resources & Water passed AB 2697, which will incentivize landowners to utilize more land for waterfowl habitat development. This bill will help waterfowl populations to the benefit of all Californian’s

Even better, the Senate Natural Resources and Water Committee approved a bill to make pig hunting easier and more accessible to all Californians (AB 2805). This bill is a much-needed overhaul for the harvesting and depredation of this harmful and invasive species.

We will provide updates on all of these bills as the legislative session progresses. For now, thank you all for your support. Keep up the good fight; remember that together, we can turn the tide in this state.
