VICTORY In Sacramento! Three Bad Bills Defeated!

As reported last week, the May 23rd deadline for bills to pass Appropriations saw, as it usually does, the consideration of a glut of bills in short order. Among that group were three of unique interest to lawful gun owners and federal firearms licensees (FFL’s).
In the latest installment of CRPA TV, CRPA Legislative Director Rick Travis joins the show with the great news that all three bills have been defeated. They are:
SB 15 – Which proposed to put FFL’s out of business if firearms they sold were SUSPECTED of being used in a crime.
AB 1187 – Mandating a new “Firearms Safety Certificate”, including eight hours of training, just for bringing a firearm into the state.
SB 320 – Establishing the infamous “Do Not Sell” firearms registry, through which citizens could ban themselves from being sold a firearm.
We say it time and again: Advocacy WORKS! As Rick notes in the video, these victories owe a great deal to CRPA’s Chapters and the active engagement of our members through our One Click Politics system.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for being the strength behind the pro-2A movement here in California! As you also heard in the video, there are still half a dozen or so particularly onerous bills still pending, so stay tuned and let’s get MORE results together!
