The Countdown Has Begun!
Well…election day wasn’t much help folks. Then again, it rarely is. Gun rights have taken a beating over the years in jurisdictions all across the country, pointing all the more emphatically to the need for an even more powerful ruling from the Supreme Court.
And that opportunity may be at hand. In today’s installment of CRPA TV, CRPA President & General Counsel Chuck Michel sets the stage for the oral arguments in Viramontes v. Cook County. As you all likely know by now, this case centers on the question of what qualifies as an “arm” for purposes of Second Amendment protection.

Viramontes, and the cases consolidated with it and pending behind it, is crucial. Any jurisdiction suffering under bans on “assault” weapons, suppressors, parts, or even ammo (raise your hand Californians) would welcome a resounding ruling from the Court. And as Chuck points out, the stars may finally be aligned.
