We are pleased to announce that we will be having a Wave Day at the Capitol on Tuesday August 19, 2025. I know some of you just got whiplash because you were previously told that the date was the 20th. The reception with legislators is being held on the 19th and thus the change in dates.

If you wish to attend please let us know.

In chatting with another woman who signed up for WAVE Capital Day, some details need to be shared…

What to expect: You will be on a team of a few people and visit 6-8 representatives for 15 minutes to discuss the bills that concern us.

Legislation: The bills we will be discussing are common sense. You may not have a story or be related to every bill, but that’s okay. You will find your story as you become familiar with the bills.

What to wear: Business casual – mostly business, but with comfortable shoes.

Time: We meet at 8 am near the capital and finish the day around 4 pm. There are several opportunities for lunch in the area.

Accessibility: If you have mobility issues, this is going to be a challenging day as there is a lot of walking between the offices.

Non-chapter leaders can’t easily find this forum, so I’m thinking we might need an additional page for women.

    Good morning WAVE team!

I just wanted to say that I am praying Capitol Day goes well for all of you, and that the conversations with legislators are productive and help push the needle in the early stages of this year’s legislative session to further our agenda. I am looking forward to hearing the after-action report about how it went!

    Good morning WAVE team!

I was curious about what the WAVE group specifically discussed with the legislators and legislative staff on the 14th. Were there any topics reserved for specific people, or did all of the conversations cover multiple issues? I wanted to hear your thoughts and perspectives about what everyone talked about, how you think the conversations went, and where we can go from here.

Thank you, looking forward to hearing from you all!

We will address this at the legislative meeting on the 16th. We will be using lessons learned for the April 15th Capitol Day
