Eligible NRA Members Encouraged Sign Petitions for 3 NRA Petition Board Candidates

September 18, 2025

Three candidates are running for election or re-election to the NRA Board of Directors who CRPA believes should be considered on the ballot. They were not placed on the ballot by the NRA Nominating Committee, so these candidates are running by the Petition Process.

As such, they need signatures from qualified NRA members to be placed on the ballot. The petitions can be signed online and must be submitted to NRA HQ by October 7th. It only takes a minute to sign online.

Being named to the ballot does not necessarily mean a candidate will be elected to the NRA Board, but this is a good way to get these people into the ballot for consideration. NRA members will receive a ballot in the mail in February and will be able to vote on anyone that is on the official ballot.

All three candidates are members of the CRPA and support the CRPA’s efforts in California. They all seek to continue to reform the NRA to avoid the waste and fraud that plagued the NRA over the last few years and resulted in the ouster of the previous NRA leadership and the imposition of multiple new safeguards to make sure the NRA is run honestly and effectively. But the work isn’t finished.

To be eligible to sign these petitions, you must be a current member of the National Rifle Association for the past consecutive 5 (five) years or a life member. Life members include Patron, Benefactor and Endowment membership. You will need your NRA membership number. You can find that number on the address label of your magazine, or by calling 866-672-3000.

The three petition candidates are:

Isaac Demarest

Isaac Demarest is a Tactical and Competitive Shooter with extensive experience in Non-profit management and finances. He is a 33rd Degree Mason and Shriner who serves on the Ohio Shriner Hospital Board of Governor’s and the Autism Model School Board and as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and fiduciary who uses his skills and knowledge to benefit these and other non-profits. Isaac is a Benefactor member of the NRA as well as Gun Collector Associations, Conservation Clubs and trains extensively with most of the top Tactical Training schools throughout the US. His biggest goal is to aid the NRA in facilitating new membership, especially the next generation, amplifying the mission of the NRA’s Second Amendment Advocacy with more Concealed Carry and Responsible Gun Ownership, and increasing transparency to membership with use of funds, fundraising, and legal battles.
