Range Safety Officer Basics
The CRPA Range Safety Officer Basics Course educates RSO candidates in industry standards of range safety with a California specific focus. Students will receive direct instruction from a Certified Instructor from beginning to end.
The Range Safety Officer Basics Course is a prerequisite to the Chief Range Safety Officer course.
CRPA Range Safety Officer courses assist individuals and range personnel in receiving the most up-to-date, qualified, straightforward training and information. Open to CRPA members and volunteers, range personnel and the public. Seats are limited.

Each RSO candidate will learn:
- roles and responsibilities of a Range Safety Officer.
- range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- range inspection.
- range rules.
- range briefings.
- emergency procedures.
- firearm stoppages and malfunctions.
Each RSO candidate will receive a Basic RSO Guide and a course evaluation form.
