WAVE: Women Armed to Vote & Educate
Welcome to WAVE!!
Women Armed to Vote and Educate (WAVE) program, launched by the California Rifle & Pistol Association (CRPA), is dedicated to empowering women to become informed and active defenders of their
Second Amendment rights. Founded in 1875, CRPA is California’s oldest and largest civil rights organization focused on protecting the right to keep and bear arms. Through WAVE, women are equipped with the
knowledge, skills, and confidence to advocate for their constitutional freedoms, engage in civic processes, and influence public policy.
WAVE’s Core Mission is Threefold:
- Education: Provide women with a thorough understanding of their Second Amendment rights and California’s complex firearm laws, fostering informed decision-making.
- Grassroots Advocacy: Equip women with the tools and strategies to become effective advocates, influencing campaigns, elections, and legislative outcomes.
- Community Leadership: Train women to lead in their communities, shaping public policy and promoting pro-Second Amendment initiatives.
Why WAVE Matters
WAVE addresses the unique challenges women face in exercising their Second Amendment rights in California, where restrictive firearm laws are among the strictest in the nation. By offering tailored education,
training, and advocacy opportunities, WAVE empowers women to:
- Understand their constitutional protections under the Second Amendment.
- Navigate California’s legal landscape for firearm ownership and use.
- Engage in grassroots efforts to support pro-gun candidates and legislation.
- Build a network of like-minded women to amplify their collective voice.
WAVE is more than a program—it’s a movement to empower women as leaders in the fight for freedom.
WAVE Program Activities
WAVE offers a range of activities to support its mission:
- Firearms Training: Hands-on courses in firearm safety, marksmanship, and self-defense, designed specifically for women.
- Legislative Advocacy Training: Workshops on how to influence legislation, engage with policymakers, and participate in elections.
- WAVE Capitol Day: An annual event (next scheduled for January 2026, registration opens October 2025) where women advocate for Second Amendment rights at the California State Capitol.
- Community Events: Networking opportunities, educational seminars, and local meetups to foster a supportive community.
- Online Meetings: WAVE has quarterly meetings via zoom to go over legislation, elections, WAVE events, as well as some additional tips to keep you and your loved ones safe.
