THE SECOND AMENDMENT

“A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

CHAPTER OBJECTIVES

  1. Encourage participation in lawful firearm related activities including training courses in basic gun safety, target shooting, self-protection, hunting, and competitive shooting.
  2. Provide opportunities for education of the public regarding safe and responsible firearm ownership and use.
  3. Develop activities working with local groups, businesses, and individuals to promote the positive attributes of gun ownership within the local community, schools, and law enforcement.
  4. Advance activities leading to timely knowledge of legislative and regulatory actions at the state, local, and national levels that adversely affect the lawful possession and use of firearms.

CRPA Contra Costa County Gun Owners does a lot of outreach work with gun shops and ranges keeping them stocked with CRPA materials and updated on current issues effecting all gun owners. We also volunteer at a number of local gun shows and Expos, where we get face to face with the community, many who have never heard of CRPA or our message.

We’re making great strides, but with your help we can do so much more. If the estimated 9 million gun owners in California voted gun smart we wouldn’t have any of these crazy gun laws we’re fighting now. It’s just a matter of reaching out and educating.

To quote Thomas Jefferson, “Freedom is lost gradually from uninterested, uninformed, and uninvolved people.”
