CRPA Files Brief Opposing Rhode En Banc
The long road to eventual success in Rhode v. Bonta may still have a ways to go, but not if our latest brief can help it. Following up on our huge win just a few weeks ago, CRPA has filed a brief opposing the state’s attempts to drag the case out with an en banc review.
Able’s Ammo, AMDEB Holdings, Ammunition Depot, R&S Firearms, and Sam’s Shooters Emporium joined the case along with lead plaintiff, Olympic champion Kim Rhode. We’re also thankful for the NRA’s support of the case.
An ammunition ban, which is essentially what the state has implemented, is unconstitutional ON ITS FACE. As CRPA President Chuck Michel put it:
“The Second Amendment doesn’t limit a person’s access to ammunition or the number of rounds in a magazine any more than the First Amendment limits one’s access to typewriter ribbon or predetermines the number of words that can be used.”
But as we all know, those pushing the gun control agenda are unfazed by the Constitution. We will hope this brief does the trick, but we will also be ready to continue the fight.
