BREAKING: Newsom’s Special Session To Cost Taxpayers

November 7, 2024

No stranger to bombastic reactions to national news, Gov. Gavin Newsom today announced that he is convening a special session of the California Legislature next month to seek additional funding for the Department of Justice to “protect California values” in light of Donald Trump’s victory.

You read that correctly.  Nearly two months before Trump even takes office, Newsom wants more of YOUR money to mount legal battles against “threats” that have not yet even been introduced and, in some cases, may never be introduced.

“Asking California taxpayers to sign a blank check for legal fights that don’t even exist is reckless, and would represent a horrific new political precedent if it were normalized,” stated CRPA President & General Counsel Chuck Michel.

Regardless of one’s views on these potential threats, those in the 2A community know full well how Newsom squanders taxpayer money in defense of the blatantly unconstitutional gun restrictions he’s pushed through the legislature over the years.  Not to mention that over 4 million Californians (about 40% of voters) voted for Trump, ostensibly because they support his policies.

Gavin Newsom intends to use this and his 28th Amendment ploy to advance his own run for President in 2028. We MUST fight back against this mismanagement of taxpayer resources.  Every dime they allocate to this transparently political effort comes from us the taxpayers.  We must fight back!

HELP CRPA FIGHT THE SPECIAL SESSION HIJINKS!
