April Fool’s Day In Sacramento

Maybe we should have had an inkling when a common sense bill to expand the life of a CCW permit was scheduled for hearing on April Fool’s Day. AB 1092, authored by Assemblymember Leticia Castillo, proposed extending the life of a CCW from two years to as much as four years (depending on when it was issued).
Sadly, if not shockingly, the bill failed to pass the Assembly Public Safety Committee Tuesday.
Will public safety improve? Of course not. Will criminals be somehow deterred? No way. But lawful gun owners will be more frequently burdened in exercising their fundamental rights, which appears to be the only goal of Sacramento’s ongoing siege on the Second Amendment.
In the latest installment of CRPA TV, Legislative Director Rick Travis stops in to shed some light on why even such a small change was so swiftly rejected, despite support from law enforcement for the change. Rick also talks through how the bill might actually be resurrected!
The “Blue Resistance” is REAL. Despite the clear message of the Bruen decision, gun control lawmakers have passed dozens of bills restricting 2A rights.
They claim to protect public safety, even as they push ballot measures like Prop. 47 to make life easier for criminals. So we respond by pushing back with Prop. 36. WE NEED TO KEEP PUSHING BACK!
