APRIL 25TH, 2026 CRPA PISTOL SHOOTING BASIC COURSE 1 DAY ONLY. COST IS $200.00
The CRPA Pistol Shooting Basic Course is an introductory handgun course designed to provide new and inexperienced shooters with a strong foundation in safe firearm handling, basic marksmanship, and responsible gun ownership. The course emphasizes safety above all else, while building confidence and competence with a pistol in a structured, supervised environment. Students are introduced to fundamental shooting skills including proper grip, stance, sight alignment, sight picture, trigger control, and follow-through, as well as safe loading, unloading, and basic malfunction awareness. Instruction includes both classroom discussion and live-fire range exercises, where students apply these fundamentals under direct instructor supervision. A core component of the course is strict adherence to the “3 Always” firearm safety rules: 1. Always keep the firearm pointed in a safe direction. 2. Always keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target and you have made the decision to shoot. 3. Always keep the firearm unloaded until ready to use. By the conclusion of the course, students will have a clear understanding of handgun safety principles, basic shooting mechanics, and range etiquette, providing a solid foundation for continued training, recreational shooting, or progression into defensive or CCW-related coursework.
