Rick serves as the Programs Director of the California Rifle and Pistol Association. He brings 30 years of public service to his position of working with organizations, businesses, government and most importantly our membership. His passion for the Second Amendment and the shooting sports is evident through his work with hunters, youth organizations (Boy Scouts of America, FFA, 4-H and Church youth programs), clubs, ranges and National Organizations. Rick is responsible for the development, implementation and growth of programs designed to meet the needs of gun owners in California. Rick develops and coordinates the CRPA’s programs and works with California’s Hunting and Sport Shooting organizations to advance the sport. Rick holds a BA in Communications with graduate work in Political Communication, Public Administration and Non Profit Management. He is also an avid hunter with his Labrador Retriever, trains people of all ages as an NRA Training Counselor in multiple disciplines and serves on multiple boards promoting youth shooting sports. Rick is a CRPA Life Member, NRA Benefactor Member, and a Scoutmaster.
Yvette recently joined the CRPA as Operations Director. Yvette is a transplant from the Washington, D.C. area & loves California. Yvette is an enthusiastic and innovative professional with over 15 years of Operations Management experience with Marriott International, Department of Defense & 6 years of Law Enforcement experience in Maryland, in which she has received the Commendation Award. Yvette is very excited about her role at CRPA and the fight to protect our Second Amendment and hunting rights in California.
Paul is excited to serve the California Rifle and Pistol Association as the Accounting Manager. He has a degree in Business Administration from the University of San Diego and 25 years of accounting experience in the retail automotive industry. He has been a lifelong hunter and shooting sport enthusiast. Through his volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America he has shared his love of shooting sports with his two sons and his scout troop as a RSO. He loves camping, boating and traveling with family and friends. He is looking forward to helping protect the right to keep and bear arms in California.
Sarah graduated from Vanguard University of Southern California with a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies- Education. Shortly after graduating she realized she had a passion for event coordinating and creating a memorable experience for both clients and audiences at events. She loves photography, calligraphy, staying active, and traveling! She is excited to engage with CRPA’s mission and members, and coordinate memorable events in the future!
David Matza, is a graduate of Azusa Pacific University and has worked as a District Representative for Mike Morrell in both the Assembly and Senate. David is especially skilled in communications, project management and community outreach coordination. David Matza is now currently the Communications Manager for the California Rifle & Pistol Association. In addition to this, David has assisted with outreach on various political campaigns throughout California and also written articles for multiple publications.
Emily Leinen graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a degree in Business Administration: Marketing. With a strong background in social media and nonprofits, she is eager to take CRPA to the next level. “Nerd by day, active person by night,” she enjoys many things including range shooting, concerts, and being outdoors but her favorite is being an avid boxer and kickboxer. Emily looks forward to the new learning experiences that CRPA is sure to bring her.
Roxanne Johns joined the CRPA family in July 2015. With ten years of experience as an Executive Assistant for another non-profit, she is happy to once again be a part of an organization with a mission she strongly believes in. She was raised in California in a family with four gun-enthusiast brothers. Her oldest son, who is serving in the US Air Force, also has a passion for shooting. Her youngest son is a Cub Scout who enjoys target shooting with his mom. In her spare time she supports her four children in all of their activities, enjoys all of their adventures together, loves to cook, and oversees the Meals Ministry at her church.
Volunteer & Grassroots Coordinator
Kelly started with CRPA in February 2016 as a Field Representative and recently moved to the position of Volunteer & Grassroots Coordinator. She is been an E5/SGT in the Army for almost ten years and is excited to help CRPA fight for Second Amendment rights in California. She and her husband have two children and they enjoy exploring the outdoors together as a family. Recently her son has showed an interest in learning to shoot so she takes him to shooting lessons at Corona Sportsman’s Club. Kelly loves to work with people and getting forces together to support our common beliefs and encourages others to do the same.
Tarryn joins the CRPA team as a student studying psychology at Cal State Monterey Bay with a focus on Behavioral and Social Psychology. She is thrilled to be working with CRPA’s efforts on the Hunter’s Survey. Tarryn loves being out in nature and is always fascinated by our land’s beauty and wildlife. She is excited to be a part of “Liberty’s Teeth” with CRPA to promote the truth and protect our Second Amendment rights!
David Miller is implementing the hunter survey for California hunters. He has competed for OCC speech & debate and was on the 2015 national championship team as a nationally ranked debater. He is an Eagle scout, a California native, and lifelong firearm enthusiast. He is excited to meet new members and help facilitate the people’s right to keep and bear arms in California!
Roy joins CRPA after 32 years in law enforcement. He started at a small town police department in Northern California and went on to spend 26 years at the California Department of Fish & Game. More than six of those years he spent in special operations. Roy’s final 12 years with the department were spent on Hunter Education – one of his biggest passions. Outside of his work, Roy enjoys hunting, fishing, backpacking, and spending time with his wonderful wife, kids, and grandkids. Roy is excited about his role at CRPA and the opportunity to help fight to protect our Second Amendment and hunting rights in California.
