D.C. CIRCUIT DENIES WASHINGTON D.C.’S REQUEST TO REHEAR NRA SUPPORTED CARRY CASE

District of Columbia, which challenges Washington D.C.’s restrictive “good reason” requirement (i.e., a special need beyond self-defense) for the issuance of a CCW on the grounds that it violates the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. As a result of today’s decision that the case will not be reheard “en banc,” Washington D.C. must either petition the United States Supreme Court to rehear the case, or accept the fact that their “good reason” requirement is unconstitutional.
